BIG DOG AND THE COOL CATS
Big Dog and the Cool Cats, formed in November of 2006, is a collection of some of
the front range's best musicians. This band is a rebirth of the famous Swell Guys,
which featured Robb Candler on guitar and vocals, Roland Turbot on keys and vocals,
Jamie Polisher on guitar and vocals, Jay Forrest on drums and vocals, and a new
addition on bass and vocals, Ed Mazur. Members of the band have played with such
famous groups as Firefall, Pure Prairie League, Asleep at the Wheel, Buckwheat
Zydeco, Dusty Drapes and Dusters, Paul Soderman, and the Boulder Blues Band.
The members played or toured with Stephen Stills, Dan Fogelberg, Vernon Reed,
Joe Walsh, and The Rippingtons, The Beach Boys, and more. They play the music
of the early- and mid-'60s as well as '70s and '80s rock and blues. Come hear
your favorites like "Mustang Sally," "Gimme Some Lovin'," "Oh Darling," and covers from the Stones, the Allmand Brothers Band, Wilson Pickett, and so many others. Be sure to bring your dancin' shoes--you'll need them!
