FOUNDED BY TERESA TAYLOR
Teresa's dream was to have a special place where people of all ages could enjoy quality music and entertainment in a fun, artistic and comfortable environment.
Our community voted Nissi's "The Best Place To Hear Live Music" in Boulder County, as stated by three major publications. Nissi's features A Cappella on Tuesdays, Jazz on Wednesdays, and Thursday through Saturday we showcase a variety of special performances from Motown, Blues, R&B, Classic Rock, to Sing Alongs, Comedy and Cabaret shows—all in an intimate setting that seats up to 130.
Though not considered a ”bar”, Nissi’s award-winning bistro serves specially selected wine, beer and a limited cocktail/martini menu, along with tasty, gourmet "small plates" dinners, from Bacon-Wrapped Scallops and Filet Mignon to Seared Ahi Tuna. Nissi's
chef-prepared cuisine was awarded "Best Restaurant" in Lafayette, Louisville, Erie and Superior in 2006. Nissi's also features decadent desserts and
after-dinner drinks. John Lehndorf of the Denver Post says, "Nissi's is a delightful 21st century Ricky Ricardo supper club."
OWNER, MARC GITLIN
Present owner, Marc Gitlin, has an extensive history in the hospitality industry and brings this experience and savvy to Nissis.
After graduating college, he became the General Manager of Carolines Comedy Club in New York City. He worked with and booked many of today’s most successful comedians such as Jon Stewart, Denis Leary, Chris Rock, Dennis Miller, David Spade, Dennis Miller and Ray Romano. At the age of 27, he opened up his first club, Nowhere Bar, just outside New York City. This live music venue featured the “Grunge” influenced early 90s sound. A young Gavin DeGraw used to perform with his older brothers.
In 1995, he moved to Colorado and opened Fanatics Sports Café in Boulder which he sold and then became the Managing Director of Trios Grille and Wine Bars in Boulder and Denver. Gitlin’s goal is to continue founder, Teresa Taylor’s, vision of making Nissis the premier live music and dining destination in Colorado.
