BARRY SHAPIRO AND THE FAZZ
In 2009, Barry Shapiro, nationally known, singer, songwriter and recording artist decided to embark on a new concept in music, combining the essence of folk rock and jazz music. Barry and The Fazz Band provides unique folk rock vocals and guitar rhythms that emulate some of the great musicians of our times.
Willie Hammond compliments Barry’s vocals and adds her own flair on the keyboards. Willie is an accomplished keyboardist, vocalist, songwriter and recording artist in her own right. Willie’s exciting jazz keys along with her smooth and sultry jazz vocals complete this unique musical concept.
Bassist Jim Penta and percussionist Steve Gaskin were invited to take part in the musical venture Barry and Willie created. As a long time bassist, Jim provides a smooth, bass groove which compliments each song. Steve provides a unique combination of rhythms, drawn from his jazz roots and sitting in with many great musicians over the years
STEVE GASKIN (percussion) has performed professionally in the Denver area and surrounding states since 1974.
He’s played all styles of music including rock, jazz, country, big-band, dance, theater, shows and creative improv.
