About The Carraige House:
Location: 1120 ½ Pine St. Boulder
Hours: Monday-Friday 10am-3pm
Mission: The mission of Carriage House Homeless Community Center (Carriage House) is to provide a stable ,supportive community for homeless men and women. We are committed to addressing immediate survival needs and to providing services which lead to employment, housing, personal stability and healing.
Accomplishments:
- Average of 100 clients daily
- Roughly 175 transition assistance appointments monthly
- 73 individuals have found jobs in 2006
- 30 individuals have received eye exams and glasses through Health One Alliance grant
- Four part time staff members
- 50+ volunteer hours weekly (25 active volunteers)
Survival services:
- Daily meals
- Shelter from elements
- First aid supplies
- Three times a week nurse outreach from the People's Clinic
- Shelter referral to Denver
Transition services:
- Weekly outreach by clinician from the Mental Health Center
- Vouchers for work and interview clothing through ARES thrift shop
- Monthly haircuts for job seekers
- Arts and crafts class
- Free voice mail for job seekers and other appointments
- Computer lab and tutoring for clients
- Individual resume preparation (over 200 resumes per year)
- Individual and group job interview preparation
- Substance abuse recovery group
- Support group regarding homelessness
- Individual mental health and substance abuse assessments
- Personal grooming (showers, toiletries, clothing)
- Bus tokens for verifiable appointments
