CHADZILLA AND THE ASTROIDS

Chadzilla has played in most styles of groups to pass through this area in decades, since being a little drum monster. Recently he played with jam bands Polytoxic and Double Parked.  But when Swallow Hill school director Michael Schenkelberg approached him about an 80's band opening for the Breakfast Club at the Film on the Rocks, Chadzilla and the Asteroids were born.  He first contacted his former Polytoxic mate Tori Pater.  With Polytoxic they made an indelible mark in the Denver music scene covering 11 classic albums monthly in 2005.

Highlights were Zeppelin's Houses of the Holy, U2's the Joshua Tree, Zenyatta Mondatta by the Police, Guns and Roses' Appetite for Destruction and the now annual Last Waltz still performed Thanksgiving Eve.  In 2006 they performed This is (not) Spinal Tap in Denver and realized what joy could be brought by the music of the 80's!  So the two of them begged local guitar hero Adam Kilgus to round out the vocals and electric guitar section.  Jonathon Barkin was the only obvious choice on bass as he and Chadzilla beefed out the rhythm section of Roktapus all of 2007.

The music of the 80's could not be played by guitars and drums alone, so the search was on for now legendary singer/keyboardist Mike Cappo.  With a great voice and piano man skills rivaling Mr. Joel himself, he accepted the duty and the Asteriods were complete.  So on July 24th, 2008 they played to a sold out crowd at the greatest music venue in the world!

Young as a band but nearly a century of combined talent and experience, Chadzilla and the Asteroids are ready to take you back 20 years and forward on the dance floor, singing songs that bring tears to your eyes and a skip to your step.
