CRYSTAL JAZZ PERSUASION     

  The Crystal Jazz Persuasion Trio grew out of a mutual love for the language of Jazz and of life.  These kindred spirits join together to celebrate  and enter into the cosmic and spiritual dance which is Jazz. CJP will delight your aural palate with a variety of tasty offerings from traditional to contemporary pop music. Devotion, passion and joy, a supremely sublime combination find a home in CJP. Rich Lamb

Bassist/Composer Rich Lamb has been playing fretless, 4 string, and 5 string electric basses  and the upright bass professionally for 34 years. He gained worldwide recognition with the 80’s jazz fusion band Dry Jack with two releases on Inner City Records.  Dry Jack was listed as part of the new wave of jazz/rock fusion in Rolling Stone Magazine's History of Rock `n' Roll.  Rich has performed with legendary vocalist Eddie Jefferson, and sax greats Richie Cole, Ernie Watts and Hank Crawford; trumpeters Dave Douglas and Ron Miles and drummers Claudio Sloan and Dan Brubeck at various times in his career. He has performed on two releases with Hazel Miller, "Live at the Fox" and "Icons". Dana Marsh

Dana Marsh has spent many years developing his skills as a pianist, concentrating on jazz and contemporary music. Dana grew up in southern Indiana where he met, studied and performed with, world renowned jazz educator, Jamey Aebersold. Dana is a graduate of Bellarmine College in Louisville, KY and received the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award in 1980.  Dana came to Colorado in 1982 when he was offered a teaching assistantship in the graduate program in music theory and jazz studies at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley Colorado.  Dana's professional performance experience includes (e.g. clubs, lounges, private engagements, churches, concerts). Performances include solo piano as well as various group ensembles covering many styles of music. Dana has performed with and opened for many top names in music such as Bobby McFerrin, Lou Rawls, The Temptations, Mel Torme, Jerry Mulligan and B. B. King. Dana also performed professionally with many of Denver's local greats such as Ron Henry, Billy Tolles, Lannie Garrett, James Van Buren, Hazel Miller, Laura Newman and Nelson Rangell. Dana is currently working as pianist/music director for the Hazel Miller

Crystal Collins:

Crystal performed on Colorado stages most of her life. She began her professional singing career as lead vocalist in a local high school band and performed throughout the region later on as a solo act, as well as with local groups, Inner City and AOA. She also traveled abroad entertaining military troops and their families for the Department of Defense and has opened for national artists Gato Barbieri and Stanley Clarke. "I’ve given back to the community by sharing my gift of song through jazz workshops and concerts for school age children sponsored by the Music Performance Trust Fund of New York, and performances for local charity events such as the National Alzheimer’s Association and The Denver Rescue Mission." Although not formally trained in voice, she has attended vocal seminars and workshops including that of Billboard’s 1996 Jazz Vocalist of the Year, Mark Murphy and most recently was the understudy in the local hit play Sistas and Storytellers.
