DUELING PIANOS "Have fun, Be loud, and Party"
Come on down and hear all of your favorite tunes from yesteryear to yesterDAY! We have brought together some of the most versatile, talented musicians in the country. Because our show is totally driven by YOUR requests, it's always a perfect match for whoever shows up!! You never know what you'll see or hear, but you can always expect a loud n' rowdy sing-along experience!
MIKE CAPPO
Cappo, is a dueling-piano veteran, having worked at two other clubs in Michigan before moving to Boulder to work at the Reef. He started out as a drummer with a degree in percussion, but made the switch to piano and dueling-piano clubs about five years ago. He's known as the consummate musician who can play nearly any request that gets thrown at him.
Mike is currently working and performing more than ever as a vocalist and keyboard player in several of the area’s most popular and respected bands. He formed the ‘mostly request’ No Cover Band with drummer Gregg Wilkins and bassist Jeff Fawcett. Their set list ranges from Steely Dan to 50cent and everything in between. He also performs with the kick ass eighties band Chadzilla & The Asteroids, the versatile Motown band 8traC, and the dynamic Lost Canyon Band. Mike also teaches piano, drums, vocals, marimba, and general percussion. He is still one of the top dueling piano players in the country, playing regularly at Rock the Keys in California. BRIAN JUAN
Brian Juan grew up in Vernon, New Jersey. He has worked as a professionalmusician since graduating form the University of Rochester in 1996 with a BAin English. He has dressed as a robot (Sonar, 2000-2003), salsa'ed badly(Chupacabra, 1997-2001), drummed Top 40 (The Reef, 2004-2007), and backed uprising (Otis Taylor, Liza) and fading (best not to mention these) stars. Fora while he was also a booking agent (national agency Watermark Media) -small-time, but full-service.
Brian is currently working his way through the science prerequisites for med school, shadowing a DO, and working as VP of Holistic Medicine with a student pre-health group at the University of Colorado. He's also accompanying a vocal performance class and doing occasional dueling piano shows. It's important that he has promised himself more time for family,research, digital media, r'n'r, and any foods that are not "Rocky MountainOysters" or "Balut." Hobbies include web design and upholding the stereotypethat Asians are Mathletes. Brian currently lives in Boulder with Krista Toledo and their family: Kevin (16), Grant (14), Karrah (11) and Jade (5). .
