GROOVIN' ON
The "Groovin' On" Dance Band and Musical Review is a blend of talented and innovative musicians, each with over twenty-five years of performing experience. Though most of our music would be described as 50's & 60's, classic Rock'n Roll, R&B, and country, we might decide to play an old movie theme song or a more recent composition for the younger members of our audience.
Fronted by vocalist Lynda Hamm and her husband Randy Hamm on guitar and vocals. Lynda and Randy have been playing in bands together since the middle 1970's. Moving to Colorado in 1986, Randy helped to form "Second Time Around", a classic rock and oldies band with drummer Steve Claps and keyboardist Dave Jordan. Lynda joined the band soon thereafter.
Steve Claps and Dave Jordan are both Coloradans performing in the area since the 1950's. Steve, an accomplished drummer sings vocals with the band. Dave Jordan is a talented solo jazz and popular music keyboardist. Using a multi keyboard system, Dave will provide horns, strings or voices (as well as his own) to a song while also soloing or playing rhythm.
Jeff Scarborough, playing guitar since 1959, has played lead guitar in many bands since the sixties. Covering a wide variety of styles like: Rock & Roll, Country and R&B. Besides playing guitar, he sings some lead and backup with Groovin' On. Jeff alsoplays in the Beatles cover band the 3eatles (3eatles.com) and performs solo as an instrumentalist.
Manni (Manfred Benecken) playing bass guitar, comes to Groovin'on from the German 60's Rock'n Roll Bands The Flaming Stars and The Devils. Manni played in the 60’s among many other famous places in several German “Star Clubs”, the Beatles started their international career in the early 60’s in the German Hamburg “Star Club”.
