HAROLD RAPP
Harold Rapp III was born in New Orleans, on May 31, 1983 and at the age of 10 became interested in music. His first endeavor with music was the piano and drums. However after watching a video demonstrating how to play the alto saxophone Harold became intrigued. He then expressed to his parents that he really wanted to play this instrument and they responded by purchasing one. Upon receiving the saxophone, Harold was immediately able to play simple melodies by ear. He then began taking lessons all through his Middle and High school years with the encouragement of his parents.
With much practice and prayer, Harold began to improve his talent with the Lords help. Playing in his local church, Israelite Church of God in Christ, allowed this young man to grow in the music ministry and the integrity of Gods word.
Upon completion of High School, he received a scholarship to the Lamont School of Music, Denver University where he pursued a Bachelor of Music Degree. Harold has set many goals; the most important one is to use his skill and knowledge to serve God. This young man also wants, to pursue a Doctorate of Music Degree and become Minister of music at his local church or wherever God leads him. Harold currently composes music for the Colorado southern district youth orchestra and recently has been in demand for studio work with a variety of gospel recording artist. He also works with the men’s choir, the women’s choir and the full church choir at Israelite Church of God in Christ. Harold has won and participated in competitions, which are too numerous to mention them all, but here is an example of a few!
- The Colorado NAACP Music Competition
- Selected to play the National Anthem at the Colorado National Boxing championships.
- Performed at the Annual Urban League dinner
- Won First place in the Colorado Regional Solo & Ensemble Competition
- Awarded the Gladiator Award of Merit
- Inducted in the Thurgood Marshall Achievers Society
- Honor Student in High School and College
- Featured Soloist on recent international trip to Naples Italy for the Honorable Bishop Huffs Anniversary.
