JASON WILDER BAND - A TRIBUTE TO DAN FOGELBERG

Colorado-based singer-songwriter Jason Wilder and his band will be paying tribute to the music of the late singer-songwriter Dan Fogelberg on Wednesday June 10th at 7:30pm. Wilder, who considers Fogelberg to be one of his biggest musical influences, will be performing a variety of songs from Dan's albums going all the way back to 'Home Free', Fogelberg’s first album. Wilder, who has been steadily gaining the attention of his home state of Colorado and beyond, is an exciting new face on the music scene.

His Elton John meets Dan Fogelberg in the 21st Century style original music is frequently described as “deep”, "larger than life" and “indisputably honest" and has even caught the attention of Norbert Putnam, producer and former bass player for Elvis Presley who produced several multi-platinum albums for Fogelberg and Jimmy Buffett in the 1970s. Putnam, listening to Wilder's demo CD after a chance encounter in 2008 proclaimed afterwards "I've just heard a great new track by Jason Wilder called 'Whispers of Love'. Keep an ear out for future recordings by this talented young man."

Wilder’s music has also been acclaimed outside of the US, with his song “Crestone” being selected as a Finalist in the Folk category of the 2007 UK World Song Contest. As a performer, Wilder opened a sold-out show for the Capitol Records based bluegrass rockers Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband in Glenwood Springs in the summer of 2007 and has also shared the stage with Leon Russell and John Lee Hooker Jr. at the 2008 Crestone Music Festival.

Wilder will be joined by his talented backing band of locally known musicians Ray Smith and Cari Minor on lead guitar, tambourine, and harmony vocals as well as Bill Capsalis on Bass, Paul Smiddy on Drums, and Rich Johnson on the Keyboard.
