JOHNNY O
Colorado native, blues veteran and Nissi’s favorite John Ohnmacht, better known as Johnny O., now brings to our stage a selection of his acoustic musical endeavors. Although fans are most familiar with his high-energy electric guitar work, John also performs a variety of acoustic styles. His acoustic finger style blues are reminiscent of guitar greats like Lonnie Johnson, Blind Blake, and Blind Jim Brewer and John is also introducing fans to his Brazilian influenced instrumental works. These compositions draw from John’s travels to Brazil over the years and also from his great love for artists such Bola Sete, Baden Powell, and Luis Bonfa. Longtime fans can also look forward to hearing solo acoustic “uplugged” versions of their favorite Johnny O. Band originals. “This solo acoustic show provides me an opportunity to play a bunch of previously unreleased original material, some of which I’ve been working on for years.”
