LIZA'S GOGO LAB
Liza first gained national attention in 1991 as the singer, lead guitarist and songwriter for the popular band Zuba. Liza's fierce lead guitar work, seductive vocals, and passionate songwriting helped Zuba become a national favorite throughout the 90’s in a thriving Colorado music scene (in the era of Acoustic Junction, early String Cheese Incident, Big Head Todd, The Samples, Leftover Salmon... and many other great local Colorado bands).
Zuba sold more than 30,000 units of their four self-produced albums and landed singles oZn the soundtracks of several major motion pictures, most notably Kingpin and There’s Something About Mary.
From 2000-2010 Liza focused more on her singer/songwriter side, releasing an album "Bird On A Wing" in 2006 with her band at the time – local favorites Erik Deutsch, Brian McRae, Glenn Taylor, & Aaron Snyder. Listening to Bird on a Wing, one really hears the years of craft and dedication Liza put into her music. The album is a stylistically and emotionally diverse collection that shows off Liza's ability to capture life in all its complicated and contradictory guises. With the release Liza showed that, on her own, she is a skillful and tempered songwriter with a commanding presence, yet a tender voice. Her powerful vignettes of love, loss and joy come to sparkling life.
Liza is currently exploring a new project, Liza's Gogo Lab. Featuring Brian McRae on Drums and triggers, Eric Moon on keys, accordion and samples, Kip Kuepper on Bass synth and vocals, and of course the lovely Liza on vocals and guitar.
Liza's Gogo Lab blends electronic trip hop, acid Jazz, an occasional Tango with a lounge esthetic, and beats made for dancing. Liza's seductive vocal style blends dreamlike as she sings irresistible electro Bossa Novas, Jazz remix and playful European lounge, in various languages - truly sexy.
