MERIKU LEWIS BAND
Meriku’s background in singing and performing goes back 20+ years, starting with original rock bands, musical theater, and commercial jingles in LA and Seattle to fronting a 9 piece Latin Band in San Francisco. Since moving to Colorado in 1993 she got involved in the local music scene doing blues jams with Rob Chandler at the Outback Tavern and joined Denver blues band Chico& The Rockets. She recorded a CD with the original band Angels In Motion which was a positive new age rock band that performed locally. She was then involved with the Heritage Square in Golden to do a Country Western dinner show that went on for 4 years 5 nights a week. Meriku co- wrote the show with the band each year which entailed 40 some songs, costume changes and she did impersonations such as Patsy Cline, Reba McIntyre & Dolly Parton. She did this while working full time at Coupe Studios Music and raising her family.
Meriku’s versatile style has kept her active in different venues both recording and performing. Being one of the partners at Coupe Studios she continues to be in the center of the music community and is hired to sing on various artists CD’s as a backup vocalist, most recently on Chuck Pyles “True Unity” and on various commercial jingles such as Village Inn, Dish Network, Busy Body and Black Eyed Pea.
Meriku Lewis has an all star band playing with her at Nissi’s . With Ed Kaufman on guitar and vocals, John McVey on guitar and vocals Kip Kuepper on bass guitar, vocals, and Brian McRae on drums, this night is guaranteed to rock!
