As one of Boulder’s first new wave bands, Pearl played both original and cover material reminiscent of Dire Straits, Talking Heads, and the 1960s British Invasion. The pure rock and roll sound and striking vocal harmonies set Pearl apart from all other Boulder and Colorado bands. For years, Pearl played regularly to sold-out rooms at The Blue Note, Molly’s Back Room, The Boulder Theater, The Boulderado, Tulagi’s, and other venues all over Colorado. Pearl played with bands like Quarterflash, The Outlaws, and The Producers. In the early '80s, music lovers and critics hailed Pearl as Boulder’s best rock and roll band. This five-piece group, in their skinny ties and Capezio shoes, played a pivotal role in Boulder’s rich musical history. Pearl does not play together any longer, but the guys are reviving their songs once again at Nissi’s. Tickets are expected to go fast. Pearl is Craig Skinner on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Chip McCarthy on guitar and vocals, Jimmy Manire on guitar and vocals, Bil Hopkins on bass and Michael Wooten on drums. |
