The Vain Brains is a family band from Golden, CO that has been playing together around Denver since 2009. They are comprised of two sets of brothers. Ollie Olsen (lead guitar) & "Hollywood" Brown (drums) are the first and elder set of brothers. Floyd Lloyd (bass & vocals) & Chuck Brown (vocals & guitar) are the songwriting pair of younger brothers. All of the band members contributed tracks to their debut EP Brainstormin'.

The Nissi's Crime Scene show will feature the "extended big band" lineup. The Crime Scene core unit is a hot rod 4-piece: Paul Shellooe on guitar, Mac McMurray on bass and me, Kerry Pastine, all formerly of The Informants. The extended big band features the wonderful and insane Jonny Love (also formerly of The Informants) on sax and keys. The show will also feature backup vocals, courtesy of "The Deadly Dames" singers.
